Jonėnai Mound

From Liudgardas slope, you have a unique opportunity to see the interesting, recently discovered and still unexplored by archaeologists, one of the few on Vainikai Island in Lithuania, Jonėnai mound. When inspecting the mound, striped pottery was found, and it dates back to the beginning of the 1st millennium. Liudgardas slope is a steep slope in front of Vainikai island, covered with a mature pine forest, between the mouth of the Baluša stream and the village of Giraičiai. Its length is about 570 m, the distance from the top of the slope to the lake is about 60 m, and its height is 20-25 m.
