Sculpture "Spindle"

Sculpture "Spindle"

In the sculpture, you can see both the traditional "Garden" from Lithuanian folk art, and the motifs of a plant and a snake. Built near the eternal resting place of the Moletiškis, it also reminds of the endless flow of time, marked by the sign of mythology.

According to the district's chief architect Gediminas Putvinskas, the idea for the sculpture was proposed by museum worker Jonas Vaiškūnas, noting that spindles occupy a unique place in folk art: they were decorated with symbolic ornaments reflecting the mythological worlds of the Underworld, Earth, and Heaven.

The sculpture is beautifully integrated into the city's main street. The idea was implemented by sculptor and metal plastic master Andrius Janulis.
